This section is dedicated to "The CEV Capsule Simulation Project" Right now the project is in the programming stage and a BETA bersion will be running in Orbiter soon. Once the BETA version is up and running, there will be screen shots and information on volunteering to be a "test-pilot" for this add-on. Latest News on the CEV Capsule Simulation Project:
 
 
  • No merge will occur
  • Futher work on the CEV Simulation Project is on hold.
  • Lockheed Martin's CEV Proposal has now been modeled and sent over for programming.
  • Modeling for the realistic Delta IV has been completed and sent over for programming.
  • The Delta IV Common Core is now working in Orbiter. Further work on the Delta IV is expected soon.
 

May 12th, 2004
 
The news of a possible merge of two CEV Projects that was announced on May 9th, 2004, will not occur. The CEV Simulation Project will continue on as planned.

There are many add-ons for Orbiter that simulate almost every aspect of a particular space craft. The "CEV Capsule Simulation Project" will attempt the same, only this project will be simulating almost every aspect of a space craft that does not yet exist.
 
The Goals of the "CEV Capsule Simulation Project" are:
 
1. To provide the most accurate simulation of the CEV Capsule currently possible.
2. To explore all possibilites, including launchers and all CEV Capsule designs.
3. Like the Mercury, Gemini, and Space Shuttle Add-ons, the "CEV Capsule Simulation Project" will continue to come out with updates and new versions after "CEV Capsules Version 1.0" is released.
