News Release 2

Today I finally caught up with where I was with this project around two weeks ago. (I lost a lot of work by accidently deleting some parameters in the ini file and in Gmax). I should also add that I am now actually slighty ahead of where I was, since I finally have the Core Booster, the SRBs, and the upperstage all working in Orbiter. I am following a checklist that if followed, I should have an Alpha version for a few test pilots by the end of this year. The actual CEV will not be done in this time, so instead a boilerplate will take its place while I am working on the much more detailed capsule. I hope to run the "First Run-Through", which will launch the boilerplate into LEO, on New Years Eve. More details about this flight will be made available soon.

News Release 1

If things have appeared to be progressing very slow lately, that is because they have. Around a week ago, when trying to fix a small problem, I changed much of the config file and caused things to go wrong. Unfourtanatley, I did not have a backup, and I lost around two weeks of work.
Redoing the lost work is progressing at a crawl, and so far in the last two weeks I got the first stage working in Orbiter again, and I now am beginning work on getting the second stage working. My original plan was to have this add on out before the new year, however, after these delays, this seems to be impossible to do. However, I hope to have the entire CEV Launcher working in Orbiter, complete with the LES and a dummy-payload that will fill the space that the Orbital Sciences CEV will take up, running in Orbiter before the new year. This is an ambitious goal, but if I can do this, most, if not all work on the launcher will be complete. I can then progress to working on the CEV itself. Over the next few weeks, things will go slow and news will be sparse, but as soon as I get the LES and boilerplate up and running, I will have new images for the gallery and the results of this first test.
At that point, I will send a BETA of the launcher out to three or so people who are interested in testing and making improvements to the launcher. They will have complete control, and I will urge them to make changes to the meshes and to the ini file. More about the BETA testing will be made available when the time comes.
